Everything you need to make your own authentic minstrel banjo. Put it together within a day or make a project out of it. Take your time to shape the neck, sand the grain and apply a shiny finish; then play your new banjo proudly.
After discontinuing this kit for some time, I’ve decided to bring it back permanently. It’s one of my personal favorite neck designs. Note that this neck and dowel are slightly different than the Americana neck option on the 12” DIY banjo kits page.
This kit is made from solid American Walnut and a handmade steam-bent rim. It easily assembles into a piece of handmade art that looks as good as it sounds. The design is based upon a banjo that appeared on a Minstrel sheet music book from 1858 (last image in gallery).
