Hi. When trimming the hide around where the neck sits against the rim, I cut above the rectangular slot by accident. It didn’t sit evenly and wobbled. I decided to try and fix it by trimming more, and trimmed just far enough that the neck can sit flush against the maple rim wood on wood. Is this too much skin removed that it might lose tension or damage it? Luckily, I have another skin and can redo it if need be.

Hi and thanks for posting to the forum! I see you posted a few days back, sorry for my delayed reply. It looks to me like the skin is nice and tight and if you used glue on the top of the rim, I would expect it to hold up just fine.
