Walnut Banza

This is a simple and classic minstrel banjo designed with the clawhammer player in mind. Lightweight yet maintains a punchy tone. It was important to me to maintain a certain level of “handmade-ness” with this banjo. I chose to leave some imperfections and tool markings on the pieces. Currently tuned to open E- an extra set of strings will be included so you can choose between standard range tunings all the way to low octave tunings.
I developed a special process to add walnut wood pigment to the semi-transparent goat skin head. It was a pleasure to build and play this beautiful instrument- make it yours today.
