B-grade Rims

$15.00

Only the highest quality rims are used on Carver Banjos kits and instruments, but I have always held onto the rims that didn’t quite make the cut. These rims are what I would classify as “B-grade” in quality. Each having at least one cosmetic flaw. This can range from a large filled knot to a repaired crack. Imperfections aside, these are still useable rims and would be perfect for banjo building practice, the amateur luthier or to make a simple hand-drum. Examples of what is to be expected are shown in the photo gallery.
Choose from 10” or 12” diameter. Single ply maple construction. Approximately 3/8” thick and 2 1/2” deep.

Your purchase is appreciated as it helps recover my materials costs for a rim I would otherwise not use for my kits.
Want to practice tacking a skin before assembling your banjo kit? Buy this rim and add a B-grade skin for $5 with your purchase. These skins may have blemishes, small pinholes or thickness irregularities.
